Accessory-Ville, a Ghana based beaded accessories brand, continues to make an indelible mark by spearheading a transformative initiative. In partnership with the esteemed non-governmental organization (NGO) Future of Africa (FOA), Accessory-Ville concluded the initial phase of a ground-breaking training programme designed to empower former street youth through specialized skill-building sessions.

This training marks the onset of a series of transformative programmes aimed at providing employment opportunities for these young individuals upon completion. The partnership between Accessory-Ville and FOA signifies a powerful union committed to fostering positive change and offering sustainable opportunities for the youth in Ghana.

Aligning with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations, this initiative primarily focuses on:

Goal 4: Quality Education – By offering specialized training, Accessory-Ville is equipping these former street youth with vital skills for employment and personal development.

Goal 5: Gender Equality – Empowering the youth from underprivileged backgrounds and providing them with avenues for economic independence.

Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth- Creating employment opportunities for the youth through specialized skill-building initiatives.

This inaugural training, funded by Accessory-Ville, the mother company of The Accessory-Ville Academy, embodies the brand’s unwavering commitment to fostering community and preserving craftsmanship in Ghanaian communities. One of Accessory-Ville’s core values is Community and Craftsmanship, advocating for the preservation of local craftsmanship by creating premium beaded accessories.

This endeavour not only protects indigenous art but also fosters trans-generational skill-sharing and socio-economic development.

Edna Ansre, Founder and Creative Lead at Accessory-Ville, shared: “At Accessory-Ville, we believe in more than just crafting accessories. We believe in preserving our rich African heritage and empowering our people. This training programme is a testament to our commitment to our communities and the craftsmanship that defines us.”

The collaboration with Future of Africa (FOA), which initiated its work with children in street situations in Accra in 2015, underscores a strategic partnership aimed at supporting homeless youth aged 13-15 through a comprehensive 5-year programme.

This initiative, as part of FOA’s Miasrornu Programme, encourages volunteer engagement with street youth interested in technical education and entrepreneurial skills. TK Mawuli Azaglo, Founder of Future of Africa (FOA), expressed, “Our collaboration with Accessory-Ville is a significant milestone in our endeavour to uplift the lives of underprivileged youth. We’re excited about the potential this partnership holds for empowering these young individuals.”
