Poetry Corner:The People from Trinidad and Tobay-Go

I  of Judah

I vowed to pay

One bold vow

One old day of yore

One day I drove to the shore

To explore four and more

I had my say on my way

To a new jubilee stay

I asked to have my way

On the day my say came my way

I vowed to pay

I now know how to pay

I know how to make a vow pay

On the day my say made a way to pay

On the day I asked to make a way

So I pay

They say nay

The naysayers

Their nay sayings

They vowed to say nay

Away with your vow to pay

Say to us where to get what to pay

Or stay where the baseline still lay

Stay there always

Stay the vow at bay

Come what may

I say to Trinidad and Tobay

…go away

Stop neighing tobay tobay

I vowed to pay

My vow to pay may only delay

I still vow to pay

Another day

Come what may

Say what you may

I am on my way to pay

Saying nay to naysayers

My nay sayings

Come what may

Say what you may

Saying nay to Trinidad and all their Tobay Tobay

I  say to Trinidad and Tobay

…go away

Stop neighing tobay tobay

I vowed to pay

I may even wait to pay

I still vow to pay

Another day

Come what may

Say what you may

You son of Sanballat  of Trinidad

You daughter of Tobiah of Tobay

…go away

I son of Judah

I say

Nay
