Cyberteq Africa, a leading cybersecurity company in Ghana, has won this year’s Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Association (GITTA) Award for ‘Cybersecurity Consulting Company of the Year’.

This is the second year in a row that Cyberteq has won this prestigious award. The award ceremony was held on October 21 at the Moevenpik Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The CEO of Cyberteq Africa, Mr. Ben Tagoe, expressed his gratitude to his team, partners and clients for contributing to the company’s successes over the recent two editions.

“We are humbled and grateful to our hard-working team, partners and cherished clients who have made this rare feat possible. We are immensely proud that our contribution toward Ghana’s growing influence of cybersecurity in the sub-region has been recognised once again. We hope to be a third time lucky,” he said.

Ghana recorded over 5,000 cyber-attacks in the third quarter of 2022, according to the national regulator, Cyber Security Authority (CSA).

Mr. Tagoe believes that Ghana’s current economic climate could lead to a further rise in cases, and urged businesses to invest in cybersecurity to thwart the threats.

“One would assume that an economic challenge should lead to a cut in cybersecurity investment. On the contrary, Ghana’s current economic climate is likely to lead to a rise in cybercrime. I advise businesses to invest more in cybersecurity, and the general public to be highly security conscious when transacting business.”

Cyberteq Africa’s CEO added that his company had begun a series of campus activations to promote cybersecurity awareness among tertiary students. He believes that this would equip the next generation with the right approach toward enhancing their cyber protection.

Cyberteq began its Ghana operations in 2019. It has emerged as a leading cybersecurity company in the country despite the challenge of its young status coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic. It offers services such as information security, management of security operation centres and vulnerability management.

The GITTA Awards is an annual event organised to honour individuals and businesses that have excelled in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.
