Huawei, a global technology leader, has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering sustainable energy solutions in Ghana.

This commitment, according to Mr. Tommy Liang, the Managing Director of Huawei Ghana, underscores the company’s proactive approach toward environmental responsibility and its pivotal role in driving clean energy advancements within the region.

He said this at the Huawei Digital Power’s maiden FusionSolar Partner Summit under the theme ‘Lighting up a Greener Africa’, where the company unveiled series of its latest sustainable energy solutions in the industry.

Speaking at the event that brought together Huawei’s Digital Power channel partners across the continent under one roof, Mr. Liang pledged the Huawei resolve to ramp up its investments in Ghana through collaboration with local enterprises to help develop solutions tailored to the needs of the local market.

“Our vision for partnership is built on the belief that collaboration with Ghana’s local channel partners can not only facilitate technology localisation but also create jobs, cultivate professional talent and achieve mutual success. We are dedicated to supporting our partners through professional training and market development initiatives,” he stated.

The event introduced All-Scenario Smart PV+ESS Solutions, including residential, commercial & industrial, and utility options, each tailored to specific needs such as ensuring electricity self-sufficiency for homes, providing sustainable energy solutions for businesses, and enabling PV electricity as a primary energy source for utility-scale applications.

Mr. David Bian, President of Huawei Digital Power, Sub-Saharan Africa Region, commenting on the recent innovations, noted that due to the continuous improvements in the efficiency of photovoltaic generation and the decrease in prices, the era of ‘PV+ Storage parity’ is approaching.

Consequently, PV+ energy storage will become the most economical and widely used form of power, he stated, pointing out: “Huawei is the leading industry supplier that can provide full-scenario solar solutions; and as a leading vendor in the ICT industry, Huawei’s Digital Power brings valuable additions to the transformation of the energy industry based on 4T—Bit, Thermal, Watt, Battery technologies”.

“This means that for the long-term development of the PV industry, Huawei can provide partners with strong support of “Innovative Portfolio, Quality, Delivery, Service, OEM Brand and Training support,” he added.

Deepening ecological strategy

According to Mr. Bian, with the booming market prospects of PV industry inevitable, Huawei Digital Power will continue to deepen its ecological strategy by adhering to the principles of “shared benefits as the bridge, integrity as the foundation, and rules as the guarantee”.

Nick Lusson, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power – Eastern Africa Region, added that the company will increase R&D investment in smart PV to bring low-carbon and cleaner green energy to more people, families and organisations in their commitment to bring clean energy to every person, home and organisation.

In his remarks, the Channel President of Huawei Digital Power Sub-Saharan Africa Region highlighted the company’s channel partner policy, which is based on “trust, profit, simplicity and growth”, in line with the company’s commitment to achieving mutually beneficial outcomes with partners in an integrated ecosystem.

The ecosystem partner policies are capability-driven, based on four ‘PSEE’ measures. These are – Profitability: to secure the profitability of partners; Simplicity: to simplify policies and processes for easier cooperation; Enablement: to improve partner capabilities continuously; and Ecosystem: to invest in ecosystem development. Huawei Digital Power also outlined trends in the global smart PV industry, including growth in smart string inverters, for which Huawei is the principal promoter globally.
