The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has re-introduced 5/90 live television lottery draws on GTV, after many years of its withdrawal.
According to the Authority, effective Monday 15th March, 2021, the live telecast of the programme would hit the screens again and subsequently, it will be shown every Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 6:45-7:00pm, except Sundays and Public Holidays.
Head of Public Relations Unit, NLA, Razak Opoku, in a statement emphasized that in order to safeguard the reputation, integrity and credibility of the NLA and its associated products and services, it has become very imperative to re-introduce the live draw.
He reiterated that the rationale behind bringing back the live draws for 5/90 Lotto is to maintain and strengthen transparency of the operations of NLA, maintain credibility and integrity of the Authority’s lotto draws and to increase the sales and revenue generation for government and consolidated fund for national development.
“The live draw is also to educate the general public about the draw processes and procedures of the NLA, combat and eradicate the activities of illegal lottery operations and to combat and eradicate the activities of lotto fraudsters and scammers,” he added.
Furthermore, the live draws for the 5/90 Lotto are believed would help to demystify the wrong perceptions in the lottery industry and bring lasting confidence to all stakeholders in the industry.
