A new book titled ‘The 10 Commandments for Sustainable National Cybersecurity Development’  has been officially unveilled.

The book, authored by Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, Director-General of Cyber Security Authority (CSA) Ghana, is as an important and innovative work in the field of cybersecurity – available for policymakers, cybersecurity experts and all relevant stakeholders.

The book also lays out a practical framework for developing sustainable cybersecurity systems, focusing on core pillars such as Public-Private partnerships, Cybersecurity professionals, global best practices and public education.

In an interview during the launch in Accra, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako explained that the book is a representation of various interactions and experiences gathered around the continent in the private, public sectors and international partners.

He added: “The commandment as part of the book title underscores the mandatory steps needed to be taken in reducing the current surge threats. There several things that need to be learnt when it comes to cybersecurity”.

He further acknowledged that there are various interventions going on when it comes to cybersecurity; however, attacks remain possible – hence the need to develop more effective response strategies to address the ongoing situation.

Ms. Sena Siaw-Boateng, Chief Director-Ministry of National Security, in her address during the launch also indicated that Cybersecurity is not just a technical challenge but also a multi-dimensional endeavour that requires institutional, strategic and operational alignment.

“To achieve sustainable cybersecurity, the country has to build robust fundamental pillars including institutional frameworks, legislative subjects and corporate measures,” she noted.

She stressed that these measures will serve as the bedrock for operationalising cybersecurity strategy and measuring their tangible impact on national resilience.

Ms. Siaw-Boateng further congratulated the author, saying the book is a call to action and recommending that all stakeholders should take advantage of it.
