The Power Energy Ghana Exhibition – a complete international exhibition of the power/energy sector – is set to take off in Accra next month from November 14-16, 2022 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The expo is organised by BlG4SURE EVENTS FZCO, based in UAE, under the auspices of Ministry of Energy of Ghana, and with the support of Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana. Power and energy is one of the most significant sectors supporting the growth and sustainability of the Ghanaian economy and industries and also contributing significantly towards the income of the country by the way of electricity exports.
The country has made significant progress in the last decade in increasing electricity generation and access, resulting in high economic growth. However, inefficiencies remain beside these improvements, including extraordinary high distribution losses; thus electricity is quite expensive. About 25 percent of electricity generated in Ghana is lost at the retail end, a situation caused partially by dilapidated infrastructure.
This exhibition will serve as a platform for finding solutions to the country’s power problems.
The event is well-received and supported by key stakeholder organisations and associations in the country, like Ghana Electrical Contractors Association, Ghana Electrical Dealers Associations, Ghana Unions of Traders Association, Energy Chamber of Ghana, Ghana Chamber of Construction Industries, and other stakeholders including international partners like UK Ghana Chamber and CCI France Ghana export.
The event will bring the manufacturers, exporters, wholesalers, dealers and distributors of the power electrical energy equipment, gadgets and products – including transformers, wires, solar panels, batteries, invertors, generators, and everything in the electrical industry of the West African region – into Ghana; hosting close to 100 exhibitors in the expo from India, Turkey, Nigeria, Italy, UAE, UK, France, Ghana and other countries… with 4000+ visitors from Ghana and West Africa.
The India pavilion at the expo, with about 40+ companies’ participation, is organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce with support from the Government of India; and is the largest contingent in the event.
The exhibition is expected to address the power and energy supplies demand and issues in the country so that the robust power sector in the country can be built and developed. This goes hand in hand with the vision of the Government of Ghana to have a strong industrial support infrastructure for export and job creation.
Ghanaian and West African companies will have the opportunity to connect with the manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting in the event. One to one prefixed meetings have been scheduled to help companies to get to know the profile of exhibitors in advance in order to understand and prioritise which of them they wish to meet for potential collaboration, partnership distribution arrangement, and joint venture and investment tie-ups.
