The Top Up Pharmacy has marked the first anniversary of its 8th branch which is located in Kasoa with a free health screening exercise.
Indigens of Kasoa, through this free screening exercise, got the chance to take medical tests including Blood Pressure, Glucose and Hepatitis B as well as the opportunity to be examined by medical offers.
At the screening exercise, the Executive Director of Top Up Pharmacy, Mrs Olena Odor said the screening as a way of given back to the community.
According to her the health screening would help identify undiagnosed disease that the people in the Kasoa area suffer so as to prescribe the right drugs that would heal them in order to alleviate their suffering.
She said Kasoa was a community with a fast-growing population which implies that its need for health service particular drugs and other medical products has grown; adding that To Up Pharmacy was here to help.
She said the company hopes to open more branches in the Kasoa area with ambiance experience and a shop full of medicines and other health care products that can really help the people of the community.
She added that the company was fully committed to living by its motto, “Whatever you need … 24/7” by acquiring more dispatch vehicles and setting up more branches.
She also urged the general public to often go for health screening, at least once in every six months to be screened since it would help prevent serious illness; adding that they should come to Top Up for these screening.
On his part, the Head of Sales and Marketing of Top Up, Dr Isaac Buabeng Nyantakyi, said the pharmacy was in Kasoa to the change the face of pharmacy.
“We want to make sure that it is not only about selling the drug and so we offer some services like blood pressure management – we check your BP and speak with your physician to find solutions for care; we also do might management and we also do cosmetology”, he said
He added that Top Up also offered drug information services which it does by scanning medication to check they were duplicate of any other medications.
He urged the populist to refrain from self-medication since it could cost them their lives.
“One advice that I would give to everyone is that drugs are poisons and you would need to speak to your pharmacist on every drug that you take. Do not just walk into the pharmacy and just buy anything especially antibiotics which are abused by people”, he said.
