Odotobri Rural Bank Limited, with its head office at Jacobu in the Amansie Central district of Ashanti Region, has opened its newest branch at Abuakwa as part of its branch expansion drive for the 2021 operational year.

The Abuakwa branch-opening now brings to thirteen the total number of branches spread across various communities and towns in the region.

The Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Georgina Addai, while enumerating some of the major steps taken to boost profitability for the bank, was hopeful that the new branch will further improve operational performance.

She observed that the bank has been widely recognised in the country as well as abroad over the period, and therefore urged existing and potential clients to confidently invest in the bank for good returns.

Speaking at a short but colourful ceremony to open the Abuakwa branch, Mrs. Addai urged residents of the area to embrace the bank’s services and products. “So far, all the branches are networked to provide convenient banking for customers to undertake transactions at any of the branches,” she indicated.

The Ashanti Regional Manager of the ARB Apex Bank, George Annor who spoke on behalf of the Managing Director Kojo Mattah, applauded the bank’s Board and Management for the bank’s impressive operational performance over the years

Mr. Annor noted that rural banking has evolved into an enviable institution which has given financial hope to many people in the rural and urban communities. This, according to him, has come about due to the hard work of rural and community banks – of which Odotobri Rural Bank is an elite member.

He advised the board and management that to continue in the march to progressively satisfy customers and realise their objective, there is a need to pay extra attention to staff training, compliance and customer care.

Mr. Annor further advised staff of the newly opened Abuakwa branch to show tenacity of purpose and discipline; and also remember at all times that banking is done in a dignified environment, always doing the needful to ensure security of customers and staff is adequate at all times.

As at the end of December 2020 financial year, the bank’s total deposits stood at GH¢186million with stated capital at GH¢2.97million. The bank gave loans and advances to the tune of GH¢43million and made profit before tax of GH¢1.69million.

Odotobri Rural Bank currently operates thirteen branches, and these include Jacobu, Bekwai, Obuasi, Asawase, Bantama and Agric Nzema. The rest are Santasi, Maakro, Tafo, Ayigya, Krofrom, Roman Hill and the newly inaugurated Abuakwa branch.
