Today’s business and corporate ecosystem is either thriving and stagnating or, even more significantly, facing extinction within a 24/7 brittle, anxious, non-linear and incomprehensible (BANI) ecology.
This is a tough turf for leadership navigation and swimming in uncharted waters not only characterised by performance, productivity, revenue generation, ROI, etc, but leaders are on the edge daily wrestling for their well-being, emotional regulation and a core sense of identity.
The long-held and experienced traditional leadership theory appears to be dwarfed by the new complexities of the business and corporate living ecosystem because a sharp gap of innate balancing is contributing to an internal dissonance ongoing in the life of most top leaders, C-Suites, teams, management etc. in their effort to explore and make gains for their businesses, shareholders, and stakeholders.
I have envisioned a world of work and purpose where most leaders rise in the morning with a renewed holistic embodied mind and an inspired spirit to do more outstanding works from a place of coherence, value, purpose, virtue, ethics, etc., returning to rest feeling accomplished and fulfilled that they got the opportunity to gift the world of work with all they are. This is my quest to hold a space for this envisioned life of transformation through coaching and corporate training.
As a Master Certified Coach (MCC), Professional mBIT Master Coach and mBIT Trainer, I have had the rare experience of a synergistic model combination of Ontological-Mindfulness-Ecological Executive Coaching and mBraining (multiple brain integration techniques – mBIT), which unlocks transformational leadership through six foundational or procedural phases: Ground, Flow, Fluidity, Float, Glow, and Growth.
I assert that this is not just coaching but a way of being for neuro-authentic leadership recalibration in liberating the human spirit.
- Grounding: The Foundation of Leadership Coherence and Presence
In an executive coaching session, I shared an observation with the client that “you are mind scattered and ruminating”, affecting his focus on what he wanted to make important for the session.
He affirmed in the positive, and I asked if I could facilitate coherence breathing in two and a half minutes. He obliged, and after that, something else emerged in the session.
His heart, head and gut were facilitated to be in congruence and alignment to bring him to himself, which is mainly called the inner child or a place of self-authenticity.
Leaders’ core mandates must not be fixing challenges or getting the task done but rather caring, inspiring the people getting the job done and casting priceless vision. In coaching, when leaders are not grounded in roles, KPIs, external affirmation and validation, their authentic self emerges in an ontological sense.
Grounding is becoming present to one’s emotions, somatic experience, and language to cultivate and co-create psychophysiological safety internally and held in the heart’s electromagnetic flux to entrain the management team in the workplace. Neuroscientists call this neuroception; when the being feels safe, it sets the tone for a beautiful dance.
This is why, in the core competencies, the cultivation of trust and safety is mission-critical to the International Coaching Federation. This is also when clients explore their creativity, gut intuition, and purposeful, authentic leadership.
- Flow: Leadership Alignment of Inner Value and Corporate Systems
It was groundbreaking for when I took my Advance Team and Executive Coaching certification with Ideal Coaching Global – USA as an ontological and ecological coaching school of philosophy we explored the works of David Clutterbuck and Stephen Hawkins on “Systemic Thinking (Coaching)”.
The business and corporate arenas are designed into systems and require leadership to oil this machinery. In coherence and grounding, a leader begins to experience flow, a dynamic state where the emergent internal wisdom and external demands are in sync.
The flow emerges when mindfulness, neuro-integration, and ecological awareness work together. It enables leaders to engage tasks and people with clarity, empathy, and decisiveness.
In the flow state, decisions are not just strategic; they are authentic, emerging from synthesising the mBIT triad: rational head logic, heart-centered values, and intuitive gut knowing. Executive leadership coaches do not just coach the leader or executive client in the session but also the entire system they work for.
- Fluidity: The Leadership Agility to Adapt and Evolve
I am from the orientation that leadership is not just a label or categorisation but flow in states to achieve a defined outcome. In such a BANI world, structure and robust systems don’t yield results anymore, not to mention the dynamics of AI plugging into the entire play of the life before our eyes in a rapid sense.
Coaching offers executives the fluidity to be agile, which is required to remain adaptable in the rapid changes we are witnessing. It reflects an ontological shift in the leader’s narrative, from control to co-creation.
Nature has already gifted us with an autonomic nervous system, which has the ability of flow-state from evolution, and our leadership is not an exception. Fluidity liberates leadership from fixed or boxed identities to integrate feed-forward, future-present-past experiences, ambiguity, and complexity.
This fluid, adaptive, agile leadership phase leverages the gut brain’s capacity for courage and action alongside the head brain’s capacity for innovation, enabling managers to navigate uncertainty with grounded agility.
- Float: The Leadership of Strategic Insight and Perspective Attunement.
Our African wisdom says that no matter how hard you try to submerge a calabash beneath water, it will still float.
I guess we also played with balloons or plastic toys in our childhood and never succeeded at submerging them under water. Executive coaching aids leaders and clients with oversight responsible for being grounded, finding flow with fluidity to float, and widening their perspective on what corporate waters and systems are being. It positions the leaders with a strategic insight to co-create possibilities with their management so that every member feels a sense of belonging and relevance.
Through mindfulness and calibration of our three brains, leaders detach from ego-driven urgency and view their ecosystem from a higher systemic, not hierarchical, perspective. This float phase liberates awareness and enables effective prioritisation, deeper listening, and more reflective decision-making.
With coaching, executive leadership clients go into heart coherence, allowing leaders to discern what truly matters, elevate beyond pressure, and return to what is essential to sparking visionary insight and exceptional outcomes.
- Glow: The Leadership Radiance for Authentic influence and Teams inspiration. Leadership
This is the phase in the coaching journey where the leader manifests their embodied authentic leadership that shines on the team as inspiration, motivation, drive, belonging, genuine presence and appreciation.
The leaders cultivate a team culture that recognises, acknowledges, and rewards team efforts and co-creates the team’s glow. Leaders who align their multiple brains, the heart, head, and gut anchor and expand share a sense of collective purpose.
This phase of glow is not about charisma; it’s about congruence. I have already explained that, in the ontological-ecological sense of coaching embodied through the three brains and two intelligences (Autonomic nervous system and pelvis), leadership is not categorisation but states of influence, impact, problem-solving, synergy, performance, etc.
Leaders in the glow phase create psychological safety in teams, inspire commitment, and energise ecosystems simply through their presence, which I call the birth of sustainable influence.
- Growth: The Leadership self and systemic sustenance of continuous development, expansion and excellence.
Growth has gotten many definitions across every sector, but I assert it is a regenerative, adaptive and non-linear exploration cycle in coaching through ontology, ecology and neurology. Growth is not a metric sanction or destination.
Organic or authentic growth emerges naturally when a leader is grounded, flowing, fluid, floating, and glowing. It reflects a self-authoring, ecological mindset — where leaders recognise that personal development is inseparable from systemic impact. In this context, growth is the unfolding of leadership as service to self, team, and purpose.
It’s also where leaders experience work-life integration, mental resilience, and meaningful success. How will you characterise, quantify, qualify, and measure growth where the client’s skin glows, hair follicles become quality and durable, family bonding peaks, corporate aura of synergy soars, and the client’s overall well-being is indescribable?
These six sequences of Ground, Flow, Fluidity, Float, Glow, and Growth are more than a model; they are neuro-ecological roadmaps for 21st-century leadership and beyond. A way of being from the mechanistic view through artificial intelligence into spirit, soul, mind and quantum of our humanness.
In a world where executives are often burnt out, disconnected, or overwhelmed by complexity, this integrative coaching philosophy offers something rare: the ability to lead from coherence to stimulate creativity, clarity, courage, intuition, and compassion. When leaders align their heart, head and gut, they don’t just perform (human doing), but they transform (human being).
