Service delivery

As I sat down to watch my favourite channel Bloomberg, a breaking news of theirs caught my attention.

And it was Delivery Hero in talks to sell Foodpanda in some Asian markets.

It heightened my curiosity because I know they are the owners of a popular food delivery company in Ghana called Glovo.

A gist on Delivery Hero from their website.

Delivery Hero is present in over 70 countries across four continents.

They operate a wide range of local brands that are united behind their shared mission to always deliver amazing experiences that are fast, easy and are delivered right at your home.

It started as an ambitious idea in 2008 by Niklas Ostberg. It was an online food ordering service in Sweden.

But it is now the world’s leading local delivery platform; they work with a large global ecosystem of riders, restaurants, shops and partners.

From prepared meals to groceries, flowers, coffee and medications.

They deliver whatever you need.

Their mission is to deliver anything.

In the second quarter of 2023, Delivery Hero generated €11.1billion Gross Merchandise value that equals a year-on-growth of 8 percent in constant currency.

Delivery Hero does not only connect customers with restaurants and shops they love, but they also operate 982 D-marts – small warehouses located in strategically relevant locations for delivery – across the globe by the end of the 2nd Quarter of 2023.

They have products called Quick Commerce and D-marts.

Quick commerce (q-commerce) is the next generation of e-commerce, delivering small quantities of goods to customers’ doors almost instantly.

As speed and convenience becomes ever more important to customers,

Delivery Hero is pioneering fast delivery through q-commerce, with a promise to deliver in under an hour.

Dmarts

Our D-marts, delivery-only supermarkets, allow us to deliver groceries and household goods to customers in record time.

By using centrally located warehouses optimised for delivery in some countries, goods are delivered in less than 15 minutes; and they are in Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Middle East.

These various brands belong to Delivery Hero:

Glovo, Foodora, talabat, efood.gr, foodpanda, Hungerstation, pedidosYa, Yemeksepeti, foody, instaShop, Baedal Minjok.

Never in the history of business has our lives been so interwoven with speed, convenience and accessibility.

Currently, in every facet of our lives, we have become increasingly dependent on the technology of the Internet for things we need to maintain a normal life.

And this very technology drives on speed, convenience and accessibility.

Now almost every business would have no other choice than to find a way to adapt speed, convenience and accessibility into their culture.

Service delivery on time is a must for you to be seen as a hero in your sector.
