With the changes in the music business today, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is organising a series of two-day workshops for selected members with support from the Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF).

As part of the GSDF support, MUSIGA will open a technical support centre at its head office in Accra.

The workshops on ‘Leveraging Digital Tools to Generate Revenue’ will train members on how to navigate the digital music space.

In all, thirty-two members will be trained in uploading, marketing and monitoring the monetisation of their works online. The workshops will also expose participants to the world of A.I.

Acting President of the union, Bessa Simons, said: “I expect this capacity-building programme to equip our members to improve their revenues in the music business. I also expect the participants to return to their regions to assist their colleagues in understanding the new music business”.

Ace geek, Kobby ‘Spikey’ Nkrumah, is the resource person for the workshops which began in Accra on June 22 and 23, 2023 and will continue in Kumasi in August, and Tamale in October.

Participants for the Accra workshop were selected from the Volta, Central, Western and Greater Accra Regions.
