Over 150 tree seedlings planted by ASA Savings and Loans – Kintampo BC

Over 150 tree seedlings have been planted by ASA Savings and Loans Limited ‘Kintampo Business Centre (BC)’ at Dr. Saunders Basic School at Kintampo, North Municipal Assembly in the Bono East Region.

Mango, orange, cashew and coconut were the seedings planted in partnership with the Forestry Commission.

Mr. Seth Morgan, Area Manager-Techiman of the company said: “This is part of our corporate social responsibility to support government’s initiative of afforestation”.

Anthony Tourong, Branch Manager-Kintampo of the company, also said the tree planting is meant to contribute in the global fight against climate change and add to Green Ghana Day.

Mr. Richard Nartey, Corporate Social Responsibility Officer of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd., urged the school and community to protect the trees as “trees play essential role in our very life existence”.

A representative from the Forestry Commission, Mr. Dennis Osei, also encouraged the school authority and students to water and take good care of the trees to serve their purpose.

Madam Ayishetu Seidu, Headmistress of the Dr. Saunders Basic School, lauded the company for selecting the school in the tree-planting exercise, saying that: “We are happy you’ve fenced them. We will protect and take good care of the trees to grow and then serve their intended purpose”.
