The founder and Chief Executive Officer of BCA Leadership – a pan-African leadership organisation,Dr. Modupe Taylor-Pearce, has paid a courtesy call on the CEO of Business and Financial Times (B&FT), Dr. Godwin Acquaye, to discuss issues of mutual benefit and interest.

Among other things, the duo discussed ways to deepen collaboration between the two parties by identifying opportunities each can leverage to strengthen their relationship and role in the business terrain.

As influential parties with a strong passion for Africa, their conversations were also driven by ideas about restoring effective leadership at all levels and fostering corporate development and economic progress across the continent.

Dr. Taylor-Pearce during the visit, commended B&FT on the recently-held Money Summit 2023 and for its consistency in churning out dispassionate, policy-shaping content which continues to define the socio-economic landscape.

He also took the opportunity to formally brief and invite the Board Chair, Dr. Edith Dankwa, to the 5th edition of BCA Leadership’s annual ‘Made in Africa Leadership Conference (MLC 2023)’ that will be held for the first time in Accra, Ghana on June 14 and 15, 2023.

He explained that his outfit is on a mission to transform Africa through leadership, hence the conference is an annual gathering of African company owners and executives, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and their Direct Reports, Managing Directors (MDs), Board Executives and Public Sector Leaders. The 2023 edition will be held under the theme ‘Making Africa Work for Africans: Collaborations and Partnerships’.

The two-day hybrid (in-person and virtual) conference aims to inspire and support leadership development among African leaders, promote intra-Africa trade and collaboration, and boost the productivity of goods and services in Africa.

It will present a ‘Peer Learning Lab’ with 75-minute meetings for 12 to 18 delegates, facilitated by a BCA Coach – during which there will a guest speaker who ‘prompts’ topics with a 20-minute talk. After the talk, delegates ask the guest-speaker questions and also discuss the topic among themselves. The objective is to have delegates learn something new, primarily from their peers.

On his part, Dr. Acquaye commended BCA Leadership’s commitment toward the ‘Let’s make Africa work for Africans agenda’ and described the conference as a unique one that will position participants to positively change the Africa narrative for the better.

Since its beginning, the conference has been hosted in Kigali, Rwanda. The second and third editions were virtual, the fourth took place in Zambia last year, and the fifth will take place here in Accra.

Conference attendees will register to join the conference upon paying a registration fee. Flights are at the delegates’ cost. However, the conference fee will cover meals, transportation and conference attendance for two days. The early-bird ticket price for international delegates is US$699. It covers conference participation for two days, two nights of hotel accommodation in Accra, and industrial and recreational site visits.
