Heritage Christian College (HCC) has held its 7th matriculation ceremony under the theme, ‘Strategic Positioning for Success at the University’. The event which was held at the university’s premises in Amasaman in Accra was graced by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana, Ms. Sena Dake, as 121 students were inducted into Business Administration, Theology, IT and Nursing programmes offered by the university.
This year’s matriculation comprised not only Ghanaian students but also students from Nigeria and Cameroon.
Guest Speaker at the programme, Ms. Sena Dake, the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana emphasized the importance of strategic positioning in achieving success at the university and readiness for the world after school.
“Strategic positioning is key to achieving success at the university. You need to know where you want to go and how you are going to get there. You need to have a plan and be willing to put in the effort to make it happen. The big personalities you see at the top didn’t start there. They started from somewhere and went through a process. Be committed to your process,” she said.
Ms. Dake further encouraged students to align with the school’s core values to foster their personal growth and success.
“As you begin this exciting journey at Heritage Christian College, I encourage you to identify your strengths, define your goals, and take the initiative to position yourself through the various opportunities provided at HCC. Build relationships and networks which will be your social capital after school. By staying focused and committed to your vision, you can achieve great things and make a positive impact in your community and the world at large. Remember, success is not a destination but a continuous journey of growth and learning.”
The Provost of HCC, Prof. Williams Atuilik said the university is committed to producing entrepreneurs with good moral values for national development and support them with seed capital to start their businesses.
“In an era where entrepreneurship is critical to national development, Heritage Christian College is committed to producing graduates who embody our core values of conviction, character, creativity, compassion, and community. Our goal is to not only equip our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed but also to support them as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys, creating a better future for themselves and the nation as a whole.”
The new students were then inducted into various programs and by taking the matriculation oath administered by the Registrar of the university, Dr. Christopher Akwaa-Mensah, pledging to uphold the values and principles of Heritage Christian College. Shortly after the matriculation ceremony, the university’s Students Representative Council, (SRC) held its handing-over ceremony to usher in new leaders for the SRC.
