Asa Savings and Loans Limited of Lashibi and Maamobi Business Centres have organised a health screening exercise for their clients and community members.
A total of 237 people were screened and tested in malaria, hepatitis B, blood pressure, among others.
The Branch Manager of Lashibi – Miss Beatrice Mensah and Area Manager – Mr. Eugene Owusu Biney explained to B&FT that the screening is organised annually for their clients to know their health status.
Also, it is for those who cannot walk into a health facility to know their state of health in order seek further medical assistance. “We organise this health screening annually as part of our corporate social responsibility,” Mr. Biney added.
Similarly, Mrs. Margaret Dei, Branch Manager of Maamobi 1 Business Centre and Area Manager for Newtown Area, Mr. Emmanuel Osae Addo, both assured their clients that this exercise will continue for their clients across the country to ensure they are in good health and can go about their daily activities without any ill health.
Dr. Mark Hammond of Haven Health Care, who assisted in the health screening with a team, mentioned that the most occurring diseases were Hepatitis B and high blood pressure.
He advised them to reduce too much in-take of salt, do a lot of exercise – such as brisk walking, reduce the level of smoking or eventually stop, reduce the in- take of alcohol, among others.
This, he noted, would ensure that they are always healthy and fit to go about their duties effectively for the development of their businesses.
