The Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG) will on Friday September 23 host the ninth edition of its annual Made-in-Ghana Awards Gala Dinner 2022 to honour and unveil a selection of iconic locally-made products and services across sectors at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

This year’s event, themed ‘Ghana Beyond Imports’, will also launch the ‘Buy-Eat-Drink Campaign’ aimed at creating the right awareness on the patronage of Ghanaian products and services toward nation-building.

According to the Foundation, unveilling the iconic brands will build boost their reputation and pride as indigenous home-made products and services which continue to contribute immensely through the creation of jobs and import substitution.

“This is a campaign that seeks the pride of indigenous and most-celebrated iconic manufacturing and service industries, to create awareness and also promote and market quality manufactured products and service industries which have exhibited excellence in manufacturing practices and standards in Ghana,” said the statement from EFG released to the media.

In total, 150 influential manufacturing CEOs, business executives, entrepreneurs and the diplomat corps in Ghana are expected to be part of the event, to share recommendations for transformational economic development and job creation, manufacturing and investments.

“The economy of any nation grows rapidly when locally-made products are promoted through patronage; first by its own people then through export.

“The ‘B-E-D Ghana campaign’ and ‘Ghana Beyond Imports’ will educate Ghanaians on the implications of their preference for foreign goods to the national economy; and encourage Ghanaians to take pride in our own products and services in an effort to reduce the cedi-depreciation and bulk dollar-repatriation of profit,” the statement added.

The iconic brand category is a special recognition to honour manufacturing and service industries registered in Ghana which have played important roles in supporting the economy of Ghana over the past decades.

The event will be chaired by Ehunabobrim Nana Prah Agyensam VI, Paramount Chief of Assin Owirenkyi Traditional Area.
