… as Blackberry Lounge officially opens for business

The long-awaited premium relaxation centre and the first of its kind at the Spintex-Lashibi community, Blackberry Lounge, has officially been opened for business with a calm ambience to relax and receive pure entertainment.

The opening of the lounge is expected to contribute significantly to high standards in the entertainment industry while creating a lively and relaxing environment for the visitors who patronise the centre.

Blackberry Lounge is a modern garden-type restaurant, lounge, sports bar and event facility designed to meet the demand of young adults and adults who are typically corporate executives, employees of companies and business owners.

The ambience is calm to relax and be entertained, and at the same time enjoy good music with a constant fixture for food, as well as a variety of cocktails, mocktails and an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Prior to the grand opening, the management invited over 100 companies and many individuals in Accra to come and spend some quality time, listening to good music while enjoying their favourite drinks. The night saw non-stop performances from some underground highlife and afrobeat artists like Sitso, Naya, Feli Nuna and the guest artiste for the night – the highlife legend Kwabena Kwabena.

Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Tourism Development Company, Kwadwo Antwi, said his outfit is poised to push tourism through promoting the arts; therefore, he was very excited about the opening of the Blackberry Lounge. He encouraged entrepreneurs to take advantage of the prospects of the tourism industry by opening such facilities to grow the sector and add more jobs to the existing ones as well.

Manager for Blackberry Lounge, Anna Wussah, indicated that the massive preparedness to stand out and meet the demand of their guest, created the room for the success of the grand opening.

She stated that individuals have patronised the lounge since the soft opening ceremony was held. She, therefore, urged the general public, especially the corporate executives, to continue to show up for relaxation.

The Managing Director for Intercity STC, Nana Akomea, commended the management of Blackberry Lounge for their hard work and commitment to put up such an ultramodern facility. He said the lounge has given employment opportunities to some individuals.

He urged the management to maintain standards since that will create room for more customers and growth of the business. “Bringing this facility to the neighbourhood will make them happy and they will patronise it without travelling to far places. Very often, when these facilities are put up, they do not stay for long, and they die away; and a lot of this has to do with the quality of service. So, I am sure if they are able to maintain the standards in terms of the service, I am sure this place will last for a long time,” he advised.
