Alajo ASA Savings and Loans holds free health screening

It’s basically a challenge for the average Ghanaian to seek medical check-up due to various reasons from financial difficulties to unavailability of time, inaccessible good health care facilities and many more.

The Alajo Business Centre of ASA Savings and Loans Limited has held free health screening exercises for its clients and the public in the Alajo, Avenor, Kotobabi and Abelemkpe communities in the Greater Accra Region.

Over 130 people were screened during the exercise. This helped in the detection of various diseases with the provision of free medication as well as other necessary health care information given to them.

Patients detected with chronic illnesses were also advised to seek further medical treatment and attention.

Participants for the health screening were mainly women and their children who gathered in the premises of the ASA Savings and Loans – Alajo Business Centre.

The ASA Savings and Loans Area Manager, Miss Emmanuella Taylor disclosed that the free health screening is part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) programme adding that though they are expecting 120 the numbers are increasing.

“The free health screening programme for its clients and the public will improve their access to quality health care and this programme will continue throughout the year and all over the country,” she added.

The Health Screening exercise had medical experts from Firdalh’s Diagnostics. The health screening exercise covered general health care, Malaria, Hypertension, Diabetes, and Hepatitis B.

Firdalh’s Diagnostics advised the patients in attendance on how to take care of themselves medically and also not to patronise unprescribed medicine to prevent drug abuse which could be dangerous to their health.

The individuals in attendance were also advised to take physical exercises seriously as it promotes good health for the human body.
