COVID-19: Ghana’s case counts now 5,530 with 674 recoveries

Some 122 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded overnight bringing the total case counts for the country to 5,530, with 647 recoveries and 24 deaths. The death to positivity ratio now stands at 0.43 per cent of the case count.

The 647 recoveries mean 160 infected persons have now recovered in addition to the prior 514 recoveries earlier reported.

The latest development currently brings the country’s total active cases to 4,832 out of which 4,827 are classified to be in mild condition while 5 cases are reported to be in moderate or critical condition.

The Head of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie, at this morning’s Ministry of Information’s press briefing said out of the 122 new cases reported, the Greater Accra recorded 57, Ashanti Region 62, Central Region 2 and Western North 1.

The situation now put the total number of cases recorded in the Greater Accra Region at 4,204, followed by Ashanti Region with 788 cases and the Central region 194.

The case counts for the other regions are Eastern 99, Western 61, Western North 57, Volta 34, Upper East 26 and Oti 24.

The Upper West Region has also recorded 21 cases so far, Northern Region 19, North-East Region 2 and Bono Region 1. This now leaves only three regions in the country – Savannah, Bono East, and Ahafo – without any cases recorded.
