At 36, Dr. Nyarkotey is a full Professor in Naturopathic Healthcare

The President of Nyarkotey University College of Holistic Medicine & Technology, and African Naturopathic Foundation has been confirmed full Professor of Naturopathic Healthcare by the Quetzalcoatl University of Veracruz, Mexico at age 36.

The Quetzalcoatl University of Veracruz is one of the most known universities in Mexico, more exactly in Veracruz; and one of the best educational institutions in the country consistently demonstrating a high level of teaching. The University is also a member of the International Association of Universities. It is well-known in the area of law and public accounting, and has many other faculties including Natural Health Science.

The appointment was made on April 4, 2022. It reads: “On the Recommendation of the Faculty and by virtue of authority vested in them, the Trustees of the University have conferred on Dr. Raphael Nyarkotey Obu, the academic title of Full Professor of Naturopathic Healthcare, the annexed division of Natural Health Science, and have granted this Diploma as evidence thereof given in the city of Veracruz, Veracruz Province in the United State of Mexico in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty -Two on the Fourth Day of April”.

Prof. Raphael Nyarkotey Obu has distinguished himself in the profession of Naturopathy in Ghana and internationally. He is one of the frequent prolific writers on Natural Health in the newspapers in Ghana, with over five hundred science articles in the profession of Naturopathy, in peer review, book chapters and books.

He led a team of academics to developed Ghana’s first National Occupational Standards in Naturopathy and Holistic Health Sciences at the Higher National Diploma (HND), and Bachelor of Technology in Naturopathy and Holistic Health Sciences.  He was also part of finest naturopathic researchers internationally to contribute to the first Health Technology Assessment Book on Naturopathy, published by the World Naturopathic Federation, Canada.

As a law student at the LLB level, he authored the first ever book on the legal aspect of Naturopathic Practice in Ghana at level 300, a feat first of its kind in Ghana at the faculty level, with many other successes at age 36.

This appointment made Prof. Nyarkotey the first in the profession of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Ghana to be confirmed full Professor in Naturopathy. In 2019, at age 34, he was also appointed an Honorary Professor by the Vinnystia State Pedagogical University, Ukraine.
