Management of Lycee Francais International Jacques Prevert, one of the leading educational institutions providing quality education on Saturday, January 29, 2022 held this year’s edition of its annual Career Day event.
Career Day is an event held by the authorities of the school, popularly known as the French School, to create an opportunity for students from grade 9 to 12 to learn about a variety of careers and how to set themselves on a path to attain those careers.
The resource persons for this year’s edition included Irchaad Razaaly, the European Union Ambassador; Kadidjah Amoah, Chief Executive Officer of Aker Energy; Paulo Fernandes, Managing Director of CFAO; Media Entrepreneur, Anita Erskine; Nadim Ghanem, Managing Director of Miniplast; Mathieu Castre, Managing Director of Tractafric Motors Ghana; and Dana Hachem, a freelance Architect.
Speaking after the event, the headmaster of the school, David Ballieu highlighted that the main purpose of the Career Day is to expose the students to a variety of careers and jobs, connect them to partners in the field and help students make the connection between school and the workplace.
On his part, Irchaad Razaaly emphasized on the advantage for diplomats, expatriates and other professionals looking at traveling around the world for work purposes enrolling their children at Lycee Francais International Jacques Prevert.
“The good thing is that the curriculum of the Lycee Francais International Jacques Prevert is standard and globally. If you leave Ghana with your children to another country, you don’t have a lot to worry about as they will just be continuing with the same curriculum when they enroll in a Lycee Francais International Jacques Prevert in that country so they will not be affected academically,” he added.
Kadidjah Amoah who expressed her delight to be part of the event said “it is such a great event and I am particularly excited about the kind of questions the students asked. They had prepared adequately before the session and from the engagement, they were keen on knowing more about what I do and the potentials for young people who aspire to get into that industry.”
In a follow up to the Career Day, management of the school has announced Saturday 5th February 2022 as the date for this year’s edition of its annual Open Day event. The event, which commences at 9am and ends at 12noon, will afford members of the public the opportunity to engage with members of the school community and inspect the school’s facilities through a specially guided tour.
Management will be welcoming members of the general public to the school on Saturday, February 5, 2022, located at East Legon, next to Surfline Head Office between 9am and 12noon.
