Fiaseman Rural Bank Limited at Bogoso in the Prestea Huni-Valley district of the Western North Region has given a series of support to victims of the Appiatse explosion.

The bank has so far given support to victims of the explosion through various items to the tune of about GH¢30,000 – out of an estimated budget of GH¢50,000 kept back to bring impactful relief to the victims.

So far, the bank has provided packed lunches for the victims as well as the bereaved families who have been rendered homeless for five days, which may continue till impact of the disaster is managed to a certain level – which costs the bank GH¢6,000 a day; and it has donated an additional 100 packs of mineral water.

The bank has also collaborated with the Municipal Health Directorate to provide health care services to the victims at where they are currently being housed, and donated medical consumables – both drugs and non-drugs – to victims as well as refreshment for the medical personnel who are administering the service.

The bank’s CEO, Mr. Godfred Frank Opoku, told newsmen during the first presentation of relief items that as a corporate organisation and actively operating within the affected community, they will be available to support the recovery process every step of the way.

He therefore hopes that the bereaved family will be comforted, and those at the hospitals will recover quickly as the reconstruction process commences.
