Legends Barbershop expands operations

“How you make them look is one thing, how you make them feel is another,” says Legends Barbershop owner, Sheldon Tatchell. The Legendary Barbershop, AKA Legends is the go- to barbershop in South Africa, a Barbershop founded by young entrepreneur Sheldon Tachell in 2011.

From humble beginnings in Eldorado Park, where he started his business on the steps of his cousin’s internet café 10 years ago – to a vision that has multiplied into a business that employs 435 staff members across 60 stores within the SADC region.

From early on in the Legendary journey, giving back has been a part of the brand DNA. The Legends team would make their way to the old age home every second week to cut the senior citizen’s hair there. At that time, the barbershop was nameless, and it was while cutting hair at the old age home that the realisation was that they were cutting the hair of legends in the community.

They not only make regular visits to the old age homes and other organisations, the Legends Barbershop family also empower local entrepreneurs in struggling communities by providing equipment and tools to aid them in their business.

A major part of the Legendary experience outside of the fresh cuts, customer experience and customer service, is being able to maintain that Legendary look – A focus of the business in order to offer that to their patrons is through their selection of the Legendary product range.

From a wave brush that allows you to maintain your beard and natural hair waves, to a razor bump solution specifically made to help smooth and treat razor bumps and other shaving related skin irritations, to the famous beard oil – an essential part of every man’s grooming kit and grooming routine. If you’re serious about maintaining a healthy attractive bear, then that’s the product for you.

The male grooming shop has attracted its fair share of local celebrities, from soccer players to DJs and hip-hop stars. But it doesn’t stop there, ASAP Bari, Usher and Dj Supernova also got their grooming done at Legends Barbershop.

Africa’s number 1 Barbershop are forever expanding their reach on the continent outside of South Africa with stores in Lesotho and Botswana; the question is, where’s next? After a much-anticipated trip to Ghana, Founder and CEO, Sheldon Tatchell has his sights on the West Africa region. A fist priority would be to familiarise the market with the Legends trademark through introducing the Legendary products into the country.

The brand is expanding to the streets of Accra, but before then you can follow them closely on their social media – https://www.instagram.com/legends_barber/
