Marketing giants receive awards at the 10th edition of MWA

The 10th edition of the Marketing World Awards (MWA) that recognizes individuals and organizations that have exhibited excellence in the marketing profession has conferred about 50 plus awards on both organisations and individuals across Africa.

The awards recognized outstanding brands, the best campaigns, marketing innovations and creative use of digital marketing channels amongst others.

The 2021 Marketing World Awards also celebrated organizations and individuals that have in the face of a global pandemic, delivered superior product values to the market and exhibited excellence in upholding concrete marketing strategies.

The 10th edition which was lively and full of nostalgic experience as market leaders and stakeholders from different parts of the continent graced the occasion. The theme for this year was “Celebrating a decade of Brands and Individuals that have worked tiressly and passionately”.

Speaking with the Chief Executive Officer of Instinct Wave, Mr. Akin Naphtal, he said the marketing companies have shown resilience over the years and even during COVID-19 times. He said companies had shortfalls yet they quickly put-up strong measures in place to push their products to the markets to make it available to the consumers.

“The marketing professionals deserves an award and recognition, during COVID-19 we witnessed there Is a lot of shortfalls but the marketers still needed to push their products and services to breed profits for their companies and that is why tonight we are rewarding them.

He added that COVID-19 has brought on board a lot of innovative ideas that has increased relationship among companies and customers, stressing that most companies have adopted digitization which has really contributed to a better engagement with clients.

The awards

The night saw most companies grabbing more than two awards home. Super Yogo of Fan milk received Best New product of the year, Printing Agency of the year went for Imani Impressions, Growing up Milk Brand of the year was received by Peak 4-5-6, Modern Ghana bagged home the Online News platform of the year, Emerging Marketing Agency of the year went for Brand Republique, Excellent in Branded Content award was grabbed by MTN, Breakfast Cereal Brand of the year was Kellogg’s, best CSP Brand of the year went to La Casera.

Waste Management Brand of the year went to Zoomlion, Best OTT brand of the year was received by MTN Ayoba, Best Bank in Innovative Digital Marketing was awarded to Standard Chartered Bank, Digital Campaign of the year went to Fan milk Plc, Best COVID-19 Campaign of the year went to MTN, Rebranding Campaign of the year was received by Absa Bank, Family brand of the year bronze category was received by Indomie, Silver category of the family brand of the year went to Camel antiseptic and the Gold category for Family brand of the year was received by Pepsodent.

New service launch of the year went to Fidelity Bank, Agency Digital Marketing of the year was received by Lilvera of Nigeria, PR Campaign of the year was awarded to PZ Cussons Baby Moment, Hill +Knowlton Strategies of Nigeria bagged home PR Agency of the Year, Best Banking Brand in diversity went to Standard Chartered Bank, Best COVID-19 CSR campaign of the year was received by Zoomlion, Fidelity Bank received the Indigenous Banking Brand of the year, Pierrine of Nigeria was awarded the Emerging Research Agency of the year, Innovative customer Experience of the year was received by MTN, DVLA received best SOE in Customer Experience, Africa Banking of the year went to Absa Bank.

Multichoice was awarded African Brand of the year, Iconic Brand of the year was Geisha Soap, Marketing team of the year for bronze category went to Absa Bank, silver category went to Uniliver and the gold category went to MTN.

Other individuals that have contributed immensely to the marketing world were also honoured. Some of them are Muniratu lamptey who took home Exceptional woman in print, Corporate Communications professional of the year – Group Head, Communication, Sophia Kudjordji, Industry Personality of the year, Africa Top 50 Marketing leader was bagged by Noel Kojo-Gaijson.

Mr. Naphtal congratulated all the organisations and individuals that were honoured the night and urged them to continue to contribute immensely towards the marketing world.
