Donewell Life Insurance rewards top performing staff at sales conference

The Managing Director of Donewell Life Insurance, Mr. Eric Atto Botwey –has said that they year 2020 has been difficult for most life insurance companies in the country.

“Donewell Life has not been an exception since we’ve all been saddled by the COVID-19 pandemic from March. It disrupted global and local economies which tested the information technology infrastructure of most companies and exposed their inefficiencies,” he said.

Mr. Botwey made the assertion during Donewell Life Second Sales Conference at the Sun Lodge Hotel in Tesano.



The conference attracted a total of 55 Sales Persons out of the company’s 300 Sales Force. They include; Branch Heads, Sales Managers, Team Leaders and Sales Executives.

He indicated in his opening remarks that “the Board and Management recognize the important role played by our indispensable sales force,” adding that, “if you are here today, it is as a result of your hard work as high performing sales persons that have resulted in your selection for this year’s conference”.

According to Mr. Botwey, Donewell Life responded adequately to the year’s challenges and by the assiduously using its Information System Technology Department (ISTD).

“They embarked on a technological drive by digitizing our processes which has made it possible for sales and after sales services to be conducted electronically. All these processes have made Donewell Life more efficient”.

“In spite of the debilitating effect of COVID-19, you are our gallant sales force, withered the storm and worked to put the company where it is today”, he stressed.

He stated that even though the team has not reached the crescendo of its target, the sales force is very important to the company.

“To those who will win award, I will say may this award urge you on to achieve more. For those who will not win any award, the challenge is for you to put in your maximum best to also be awarded next year, God willing”, Mr. Botwey said.

Peter Obeng Annor of Kasoa Branch of the company picked 4 awards which include – Best Sales Executive (Risk Businesses), Best Sales Executive Premium Income and Inception, Best Sales Executive (Paypoint Businesses) and Overall Best Retail Sales Executive.

The other award winners were; Felix Darko, Kumasi Branch – Most Promising Sales Executive (E-Proposal) – Inception, John Owusu Kumah, Kumasi Branch – Most Promising Sales Executive (E-Proposal) – Premium, Andy Andrews Djikutey, Tema Branch – Overall Best Retail Team Leader, Philip Obeng Annor, Kasoa Branch – Best Sales Manager, Vivian Owusua Addo, Tema Branch – Best Micro Sales Executive (Premium Mobilization), Most Promising Micro Sales Executive and Overall Best Micro Team Leader.

The rest are; Veronica Sefakor Lanyo, Kasoa Branch – Most Promising Micro Sales Executive, Joycelin Yeboah, Accra Central – Overall Best Micro Team Leader, Nicholas Engman and Emmanuel Opoku Nti both coordinators won Awards for the Southern and Northern Micro Coordinators respectively.

The Best Branch award went to Tema Branch, Best Branch Manager Award went to Kwesi Amamoo Essandoh – Branch Manager, Accra 1, and Best Sales Person of the Year went to Andy Andrews Djikutey – Tema Branch.

It will be recalled that by the third quarter of 2020, Donewell Life has accumulated Total Assets of GHS108.9m in addition to Premium Income of GHS15,030,798.00 and Claims of GHS6,539,411.00.
