So you have to take it up as a responsibility to get them home. Some would want to be strong-willed, naughty and insubordinate. Show the silent rod and apply the physical rod.
Some may also want to get home anyway. Bring them home and show them the way to go forth. That’s what makes leadership very powerful. The physical rod is the policy, rules, regulations which should guide attitude and strategy. The silent rod is the motivation (most often than not the intrinsic) for each person. You don’t have to look back to ask the flock to be in line. They have to follow.
