The honour was conferred on the hotel at the third edition of the just ended Accra Weizo, the West African regional fair featuring participants from the sub region and beyond becoming the first hotel in the country to have received the accolade.
The Bafalon Awards was instituted in 2009 by the publishers of ATQ News and is made up of a judging panel of travel professionals and journalists from across West Africa. The award was set up to recognise individuals and organisations that have excelled in tourism and travel in their respective countries and the sub-region as a whole.
