BAJ Freights and Logistics gets ISO certificates, dedicate office complex in Tema

BAJ Freight and Logistics, a leading and wholly owned Ghanaian freight forwarding, and logistics company has been awarded the ISO 45001:2018, Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSM); ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS); and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), forming the Integration Management System with the assurance to transform its services for an increased performance.

The company successfully sailed through the certification audit by its certification body SGS-Ghana. The company also officially dedicated its four -storey head office complex, christened ‘BAJ Place’ with office space and a warehouse here in Tema.



Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BAJ Freights and Logistics, Joseph Kojo Biney, at the dedication and presentation of ISO certificates ceremony said, the successful migration from Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018 certification standard and the construction of their corporate head office is a testament of their quality service delivery and partnership with their customers.

In his welcome address, he dedicated the certificates to their loyal customers, staff, and stakeholders, indicating that the company will continue to provide an environmentally friendly and safe atmosphere comparable to international standards for them all.

The company, in its 12-year journey, according to Mr. Biney won uncountable awards to its credit since 2014 to date and has grown from 15 staff in 2009 to 250 employees. From a customs brokerage outlet in 2006, it is now a fully integrated world class logistics provider.

Some awards won include best CSR Company of Year 2017; Best Freight Forwarding Company of the Year 2015, 2016, 2017; Local Content Company of the Year 2019; West African Outstanding Company of the year 2019, Sustainability and Operational Excellence awards 2020; Safer Logistics Company of the Year 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Michael Luguje, delivering his keynote address, congratulated BAJ Freights and Logistics for working diligently to achieve such a mile stone and challenged them to become a success story in the whole of Africa even as they have become a success story in Ghana.

“We are proud to have you as our tenant in Tema and Takoradi ports. We believe in your story when you first knocked at our door requesting for space to do your business within the port and here we are celebrating your success story,” he said.

A founding member of BAJ Freight and Logistics, Ato Quagraine, said: ” as a company, this is an evidence that we have truly come of age. Now with the IMS-Certification, we are putting our company of the global stage in the provision of freight and Logistics Services with quality, health, safety and environmental accepted standards.”
