Just as you are about to level out the climb up the hill past Peduase township going in the direction of Aburi, you will see on your right hand side of the road a signboard indicating Aruba Hotel being tucked off the main road – a short drive down the valley.
That vicinity is dotted with hotels and Aruba is uniquely set in a cute space on the hillside, offering the ideal getaway. The buildings are a modern 2-storey on either side with a bridge with glass cladding architecture blending with nature.
Never mind that the yard is paved in concrete to enable smooth vehicle access, its surroundings is enhanced with stone walls and plants and flowers that are pleasantly arranged to accentuate the atmosphere.
A simple reception area welcomes visitors with restful seats as you check in, and the staff are pretty courteous. They will assist in carrying your bags in.
The hotel boasts 40 rooms, and each provides a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Above all, there’s a quiet within the serene environment that gives you complete rest.
There are basically 3 types of rooms. Standard rooms mostly located on the ground floor, rooms with balcony and other rooms without balcony. All rooms at Aruba hotel are bed and breakfast.
My room is fitted with the convenient amenities of a fridge, kettle and television; and comes with a clean bathroom, with a tub and hot water.
The menu from their restaurant is simple. I ordered boiled yam and egg stew for lunch and I cleared my plate. The stew was tasty and didn’t drip with oil like one I had had recently elsewhere. The restaurant is a large room, with a serene setting offering a mountainous view with great ambiance. There is a wine list, and the menu features a selection both local and continental cuisines.
Aruba, is ideal for conferences and has an 80-seater conference room fitted with ultra-modern facilities, including a projector and screen, a PA system, flip chart and white boards, with a most ideal environment for conferences, seminars and workshops.
