The Al Falah Islamic School, situated at Mamobi-Accra in the Ayawaso North Municipality has received an ultra-modern library installed with about 2,000 English books, 100 local language content books, 200 school bags, shelves, registers, and other teaching and learning materials.
The project, which was funded by the Group Chair and Founder of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, in partnership with the Rainbow Trust Foundation, a local non-profit organization, is aimed at improving the standard of education in the Zongo community.
To secure the safety of the books and ensure that the students are able to put the books to good use, a teachers’ librarian training manual was also provided to guide teaching and learning.
Alhaji Salamu Amadu in his address noted that being an old student of the school he found it worthy to partner with the Rainbow Trust Foundation to provide the facility to the school.
He assured the management of the school of his commitment to keep investing in the school and other developmental projects for the neighborhood.
He also disclosed that negotiations are in place with partners from Turkey to provide scholarships to the needy but brilliant students in the Zongos and Inner Cities.
“We shall witness vigorous developmental projects in the Zongos and Inner Cities. As the ‘Youth Ambassador for Peace and Development’, I’m speaking to my partners in Istanbul, Turkey to provide scholarships to the needy but brilliant students in the Zongos and Inner Cities,” he said.
He made a profound statement that the first word revealed to Holy Prophet Muhammed is “SAW” an IQRA word, meaning read, hence reading is very important to human existence and the Quran recognizes that.
Founder and Chief Executive Director, of Rainbow Trust Foundation, Joyce Felix Ampofo, on her part, noted that Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu has been very supportive and has the education of the needy and the deprived schools at heart. “Ambassador Salamu always tries to identify a problem and also tries to find a solution to the identified.”
She also supported the project financially and has promised to do more for Nima, Mamobi, Accra New Town, Alajo, and Kotobaabi.
Headmaster of Al Falah Islamic School, Alhaji Abdul Basiru Iddrisu on behalf of the school expressed his profound gratitude to the Afro-Arab CEO, and the executives of the Rainbow Trust Foundation for coming to the aid of the school with such an investment and noted it will boost the learning skills of the students and also the community will benefit from it too.
