Hands of Gold Foundation (HOGF) has officially opened its office at Olebu-Ablekuma in Accra to complement government’s efforts to support needs of the vulnerable, needy, less fortunate and most marginalised in society.
The HOGF, an International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), also helps persons facing financial difficulties to help them regain their financial independence.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Chief Executive of the Foundation, Benjamin Opuni, said the foundation was set up with the sole aim of supporting individuals, especially women and children, to become useful in society. “As our aim, the foundation targets individuals – especially women and children – to support them to age well, be financially stable through entrepreneurial development, and incubate business initiatives and innovations for their livelihood support,” he emphasised.
According to him, the foundation believes in long-lasting relationships and partnerships; and as such is open to partnering with other NGOs to ensure that all generations of society are involved in ensuring fulfillment of the foundation’s mission and vision.
Impacts
The foundation since its inception has financially supported selected beneficiaries to undergo Fibroid and Hernia medical operations.
“The foundation undertook full health screenings for the entire community of Fankyinikor, a suburb of Nsawam, on November 17, 2021. We have also issued financial tokens to some selected beneficiaries as startup business capital – for which these persons are financially performing creditably. Additionally, we have ensured payment for the full medical cost and surgical operations of some beneficiaries at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital.
“The foundation also catered for the school fees of two nursing trainees,” he recounted. “Despite all these strides made by the Foundation, we strive for greater heights. There are more of these to happen, and we are hopeful that the people of Olebu-Ablekuma will not be left out at all,” he stressed
On his part, chief of the area Nii Adotey Amarteifio (I) commended HOGF for their initiatives and interventions over the years, and implored them to extend their services with special reference to inhabitants of Olebu-Ablekuma.
HOGF is a secular, independent, non-profit and non-governmental organisation based in Ghana, and was established in September 2020 in the capital city of Accra.
