Nickseth Construction Company Limited (NCCL), a leading Kumasi-based construction firm, has launched its concrete production facility at Appolonia Industrial Park in Accra as part of efforts to expand and offer it services to other regions.
The three-acre, state-of-the-art production complex is the company’s operational yard for the southern sector of the country.
The facility has two production lines; each of which can produce 16,800 six-inch blocks every eight hours or more than 33,000 per shift.
“We are excited to begin operations in Appolonia Industrial Park, which allows us to serve clients in Appolonia City, Greater Accra, and beyond,” the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nickseth Construction, Nicholas Frimpong Boateng has said at the official launch.
The Technical Director, Charles Essel emphasized how important quality is to the company, saying they look forward to serving the southern sector with high-standard manufacturing services.
“As a developer, you want to look for land availability. In the southern sector, litigation issues are also a major issue. Industrial activities also have some environmental control conditions…when we heard of an industrial park; we felt that it fit into the whole idea of moving to the southern sector. We thought that geographically, it was a good choice. The facility has three warehouses, a service room, common rooms, offices, multi-purpose rooms, an administration block, a canteen, and a kitchen yard,” he noted.
Nickseth Construction designs, builds, manages projects, and manufactures quality building products for global clients and customers. The company covers all aspects of construction including commercial, public, residential, and special buildings. It specialises in developments such as mixed-use, industrial buildings, warehouses, churches, filling stations, schools, and design & build.
For his part, the CEO of Appolonia City, Bright Owusu-Amofah said the launch of the modern facility is a great step towards realising the vision of a world-class light industrial park within the planned mixed-use city.
“We are developing a new satellite community for 100,000 people, and this community will need the likes of Nickseth to provide such services. We will be developing 30,000 homes here so certainly, we will need blocks to do that. We will also need concrete products for the several roads we will be constructing here,” he said.
Appolonia City is home to more than 5 businesses, including MainOne’s $5 million data centre that delivers high-speed fibre optic infrastructure to city and Greater Accra.
