Members of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority’s (GSA) Northern Regional Shipper Committee (NRSC) have been sensitised on the opportunities available under the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) as well as the reversal of the Benchmark Value Policy.

The meeting, which was held on 7th June 2022, followed a similar one held in the Volta, Ashanti, Western, Upper East and Upper West Regions.

It formed part of the second quarter activities of the Tamale Office of the GSA, aimed at equipping shippers with the requisite tools to promote their activities and ensure they have a better understanding of the reversal of the Benchmark Value Policy.

A Principal Revenue Officer from the Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr. Jonathan Debrah, sensitised the participants on critical issues such as the determination of origin under AfCFTA, channel of application, product qualification manual, discount policy and implications, among others.

Participants expressed appreciation to the GSA for facilitating the meeting as it will be beneficial to their activities going forward.
