Mr. Michael Asiedu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rebirth Travel and Tours; and Rebirth Real Estate and Constructions in Takoradi was adjudged Tertiary Role Model of the Year at the just ended Ghana Student Awards held at National Theatre in Accra.
The Ghana Student Awards is an initiative of Joy Foundation a subsidiary of Star Ghana Limited, the Ghana Student Awards seeks to identify and honour students, Institutions and Individuals whose lives have impacted our society positively through their contributions in their field of study and work. There are several invited guests including Elvis Andoh, a broadcast journalist at Metro TV, Afia Amankwah Kwarteng from Atinka TV and also Joseph Cliff from Pan African TV. It was also graced by Mimi Brown, the Ghana Tertiary Most Beautiful and it was MC by Mathew Ferguson from Radio Premier in Takoradi.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Mr Michael Asiedu expressed gratitude to his mother, Madam Esther Nkrumah popularly known as Aunty Ama Tsibu who is a businesswoman in Mankessim for her unflinching support giving him day in day out.
Mr. Michael Asiedu took opportunity to call on the government and all stakeholders in the Travel and Tourism industry to invest more into the sector to make it more attractive for the students in order to unearth more talents in the country, he believed that Travel and Tourism is one of the biggest Industry with huge potential to create more jobs.
Michael Asiedu urged the students to stay focused and not to give up on their dreams. The award for Mr. Michael Asiedu is a recognition of his dedication and commitment to creating more jobs and nurturing more graduates in the country.
Mr Michael Asiedu went to Theocracy Complex School (Primary, JSS and SSS) in Homedakrom near Pokuase . He holds a Bachelor ‘s degree in Economics and Geography from University of Cape Coast and a Master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management-Ghana
The younger brother, Abel Nkrumah who recently graduated from University of Cape Coast and also a graduate of Theocracy Senior High School was also adjudged the Outstanding Student in Academics.
