Parliament rejects 2022 National Budget

The 2023 budget and economic policy must prioritise economic stability and recovery, with local solutions at the centre, says the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry GNCCI and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).

Parliament has rejected the 2022 National Budget Statement and Economic Policy statement presented to House by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The Majority group in parliament staged a walkout , but that did not prevent the House from continuing with the business of the day.

Parliament was to conclude the debate on the 2022 budget statement and approve the policy document today Friday November 26, 2021.



The Finance Minister later requested to meet with the leadership of the House but it was turned down by the MPs .
