Africon, a leading African AI consultancy, in collaboration with Adansi Travels and Vaurse, has successfully completed a landmark free AI training programme for close to 100 Human Resource (HR) leaders across Ghana.

The initiative seeks to empower HR professionals with cutting-edge AI tools and strategies designed to enhance workplace efficiency and modernise HR practices amid the accelerating digital transformation.

Held over multiple sessions, the comprehensive workshops held at the Adansi Travel House in Accra, focused on practical applications of AI technologies such as ChatGPT, Gamma and NotebookLM within HR workflows.

Participants were trained on automating routine administrative tasks, improving recruitment processes and deploying data-driven employee engagement strategies to foster more effective organisational cultures.

Felicia Konadu Yamoah, one of the trainees, expressed her enthusiasm: “I thought I knew AI, but this training opened my eyes to how much more there is to learn. It’s intensive and necessary for anyone wanting to stay relevant in HR today.”

Similarly, Ama Ansong, Head of HR at AxisPension Trust, remarked: “I am exploring NotebookLM, and I love every bit of it thanks to Africon AI. My team and I will certainly attend future sessions. The AI tools are also working wonders!”

Several other participants echoed their appreciation, highlighting the value and relevance of the training. Deladem Ameyo Amanie, HR Manager at 37 Military Hospital, said:The insightful learning was worth every minute. The gifts provided will be used as recommendations to bring others on board”. Sandra Ehun, Senior HR Officer at Matrix Gas Ghana Limited, shared: “Thank you for this insightful workshop. I am excited to explore these tools and share them with my team”.

Debora Osei Antwi, Group HR/Admin Manager for EIB Network, added: “This training is so valuable and will undoubtedly enhance efficiency in our workplaces and HR practice. Kudos to Africon and the sponsors”.

Addressing prevalent concerns about AI’s impact on employment, the sessions reassured participants that AI serves as an enabler rather than a job replacer. “Many of us feared AI might displace us, but Africon showed us how it actually empowers us to be more strategic and effective,” noted one HR executive.

Gideon Asare, CEO of Africon, underscored the significance of the program. “HR leaders are pivotal in shaping organisational culture and productivity. By equipping them with AI skills for free, we are investing in the backbone of Ghana’s workforce and helping build future-ready organisations.”

These successful training programme were made possible through the collaborative partnership between Africon, Adansi Travels and Vaurse, demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing AI literacy across Ghana’s critical sectors.

Looking ahead, Africon plans to expand this AI training model nationwide, encouraging HR professionals and business leaders throughout Ghana to embrace the transformative potential of AI technologies.
