Award-winning built environment expert and CEO of WEL Group, Mr. Eric Eduam, is charting a bold new course for regional growth and innovation following his recent recognition at the prestigious 40 Under 40 Global Awards held in Dubai.
The recognition, he says is bringing new clarity and ambition to how he leads one of Ghana’s fast-rising infrastructure and services firms.
Speaking in an interview, Eduam outlined a bold new direction for the future of WEL Group.
Asked whether the recognition changes how he leads or influences the goals he’s setting for the future of the business, Eduam responded emphatically, revealing that WEL Group’s next chapter will focus on scale and sophistication, with strategic plans to expand its footprint across the region.
“Definitely. It brings renewed clarity. WEL Group’s next chapter is about scale and sophistication, expanding our impact regionally, investing more in tech-driven project management solutions, and developing talent internally. We’re also strengthening our governance and sustainability models to ensure long-term relevance. I’m thinking beyond revenue, I’m thinking about legacy,” he stated.
That legacy, Eduam explains, is tied closely to his vision of redefining norms within Ghana’s construction and facilities management landscape. In his acceptance speech at the awards ceremony, he spoke of “pushing boundaries,” and in this interview, he further unpacked what that means for him and his team:
“I’m passionate about redefining what’s ‘normal’ in the construction and service space in Ghana. I want to challenge the idea that quality must come from abroad, that innovation is reserved for tech companies, or that young Africans can’t lead major infrastructure initiatives.”
A major part of that challenge involves the integration of cutting-edge technologies into areas typically overlooked in the sector, including cleaning and maintenance services.
“We’re also working on using AI not just in design and planning, but also in facility maintenance, cleaning services, and resource optimization. That’s a boundary worth breaking,” he added.
WEL Group, under Eduam’s leadership, has earned a reputation for quality delivery, attention to detail, and a relentless drive to modernize and professionalize the built environment space. With this new wave of global recognition and his renewed sense of mission, Eduam is positioning the firm as a trailblazer, not just within Ghana, but across the West African region.
As he put it, “We’re not just building structures — we’re building systems, people, and a future that reflects the true potential of African ingenuity.”
