For 15 years, Access Bank Ghana has stood as a beacon of excellence in the financial sector, pioneering impactful banking solutions that drive growth, promote inclusion, and create lasting value for individuals and businesses.

As we celebrate our journey in this special Outstanding Brands edition, we reflect on the strides that have solidified our position as a market leader and a trusted partner in Ghana’s economic transformation.

Access Bank Ghana has consistently demonstrated its commitment to financial inclusion, evidenced by our strategic expansion efforts. In 2024 alone, we successfully launched three new branches in Afienya, Obuasi, and Winneba.

These additions not only extend our footprint but also reaffirm our dedication to making banking accessible to underserved communities while delivering our hallmark customer-centric services.

15 years of impact

Since our inception in 2009, Access Bank Ghana has grown from strength to strength, redefining banking through innovation, customer-first strategies, and an unwavering focus on economic development. Over the past 15 years, we have supported businesses, empowered individuals, and championed transformative initiatives that have left an indelible mark on Ghana’s financial landscape.

A strong presence on the Ghana Stock Exchange

Access Bank Ghana is the first bank of Nigerian heritage to be listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE). Our listing underscores our resilience, strong corporate governance, and investor confidence, while also providing opportunities for Ghanaians to be part of our growth journey.

Sustainability at the core

At Access Bank Ghana, sustainability is more than just a corporate initiative; it is a fundamental pillar of our operations. Our sustainability strategy is built on three key pillars: sustainable operations, sustainable finance, and Corporate Social Investment (CSI). These pillars guide our efforts in driving environmentally responsible practices, financing sustainable projects, and investing in impactful community initiatives.

Empowering women through the ‘W’ initiative

The ‘W’ Initiative, launched 10 years ago, is dedicated to empowering women through financial inclusion and business support. Its flagship program, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton, supports women-led businesses and enterprises with at least 50% female ownership. The competition provides capital injection, mentorship, and boot camps to help shape and grow businesses. Additionally, the initiative includes maternal health support and specialized loan offerings tailored for women.

Driving SME growth

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Ghana’s economy, and Access Bank Ghana has been a staunch supporter of their growth. Over 1,700 SMEs have benefited from our services, gaining access to markets, financing solutions, advisory services, and business development support. Through tailored SME banking solutions, we have enabled businesses to scale up, create jobs, and contribute to national development.

The future: Strengthening our global presence

As we forge ahead, our commitment remains unwavering; to provide cutting-edge banking solutions, promote financial inclusion, and create a sustainable future for all stakeholders. Access Bank Ghana is not just a bank; we are a trusted partner, a catalyst for growth, and a symbol of excellence in the banking sector.
