Action-Aid Ghana has extended its warmest congratulations to Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

According to AAG, her historic milestone on January 7 when she was sworn-in as the first female Vice President marks a defining moment in the country’s Fourth Republic.

As a gender-focused organisation, they reiterated that this achievement boldly represents progress for women’s representation across Ghana and exemplifies their relentless pursuit of feminist-leadership principles and gender equity in society.

Referencing her victory speech’s bold statement “to hold the door open for others to walk through”, they described it as a powerful affirmation of her willingness to work in support of feminist-action causes.

They expressed confidence in her leadership to inspire women and girls, “significantly enhancing their confidence to participate in governance and improve their dignity while advocating for a better quality of life”.

According to AAG, achieving these high principles of democracy will add value to the nation’s democratic credentials and promote social justice for all.

They further extended their heartfelt congratulations and well-wishes to all newly elected female Members of Parliament.
