Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC, a subsidiary of Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) of Trinidad & Tobago, has rekindled its mutual relationship with the Business and Financial Times (B&FT), assuring the latter of improved partnerships heading into 2025.
During a courtesy call by the management of B&FT, Managing Director-Republic Bank Ghana, Benjamin Dzoboku, praised B&FT for its dedication and efficiency in meeting the bank’s publicity needs, especially during critical moments with tight deadlines.
He commended the B&FT for establishing a strong, sustainable brand that has consistently supported the corporate sector for decades.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of the B&FT, Dr. Godwin Acquaye, who led the B&FT delegation, expressed gratitude to the bank’s management for their unwavering support throughout the year despite the economic challenges facing the country.
Dr Acquaye used the occasion to highlight some flagship B&FT events that will thrive on the collaborative synergies between the two parties to deliver impactful benefits to the Ghanaian public.
These include the Ghana Economic Forum (GEF), Youth Economic Forum, Women in Business Summit, Outstanding Brands, Business Breakfast Meetings and the Environmental Sustainability Summit, among others.
The two parties held fruitful discussions, expressing renewed commitment to strengthening their partnership as they look ahead to the 2025 financial year.
As one of the most diversified financial institutions in the country, offering services including corporate, commercial, and retail banking, investment banking, mortgage banking, and micro finance, Republic Bank boasts the most robust business and personal credit card system to support economic activities and sustain growth.
As part of the partnership between the two companies, Republic Bank Ghana presented four unique premium credit card options to B&FT to help boost its activities. The cards include the Republic VISA Business Credit Card, Republic VISA Infinite Credit Card, Republic Adeshie VISA Credit Card and Republic VISA Classic Credit Card.
The Republic VISA Business Credit Card is designed to offer the most suitable solution for employers and employees authorised to make reimbursable expenditures on behalf of an institution.
Additionally, the Republic Bank VISA Business credit card is a revolving credit facility loaded onto a card with up to a 45-day interest-free period. It can be used for purchases, paying bills/services online and other point of sales (POS) devices. The cards can also be used on ATMs globally to make cash withdrawals with a validity period of three years and can be renewed upon expiry.
As its name suggests, the Republic VISA Infinite Credit Card offers infinite possibilities to take a holder anywhere in the world. It provides exceptional convenience and benefits that suggest luxury and prominence. The other two are the Republic Adeshie VISA Credit Card and the Republic VISA Classic Credit Card, which target the masses with income levels as low as GHS 1,500, demystifying the belief that credit cards are for the elite.
“These cards offer the most practical solutions to employees who incur expenses in their normal course of work – such as travel, feeding and accommodation expenses. With our business credit cards, employees can work without spending their funds for work-related activities and making claims later at the office,” the bank’s MD said.
Republic Bank presented these offers for the B&FT to consider utilising in its events and other operations. Furthermore, the MD encouraged B&FT to transition its staff onto the bank’s platforms to enable them to benefit from specialised long-term mortgage offers and vehicle loans as part of the partnership.
Mr Dzoboku noted that, although the year is yet to end, the bank’s assets have already grown to about GH₵2 billion, with a target of reaching GH₵2.6 billion by year-end. This strong financial position underscores the bank’s capacity to provide efficient and robust business credit cards to its clients, he added.
Also present at the meeting representing Republic Bank were Mr Joseph Laryea Ashong, General Manager, Commercial and Retail Banking, Mrs. Oduraa Botchway, Company Secretary, Ferguson Ofori-Atta, Senior Manager Finance and Strategy and Mrs. Genevieve Aboney, Manager, Marketing and Communications.
