Co-operative Credit Unions to host 23rd Educational and Biennial Conference 2024: Members urged to Participate and act as Agents of Change to Empower Communities

The Ghana Co-operative Credit Unions Association (CUA) Ltd is thrilled to announce its 23rd Educational and Biennial Conference, scheduled from Wednesday, 20 November to Friday, 22 November 2024, at the Credit Union Training Centre (CUTraC), Kasoa Akweley.

With the theme, “Empowering Communities and Enriching Lives: The Role of Credit Unions,” the conference aims to inspire transformative change through the collective efforts of credit unions.

Preceding the main conference, a Women’s Conference is set for Tuesday, 19 November 2024, bringing together female leaders and advocates to discuss strategies for empowering women within the cooperative movement.



Chairperson for the Event is Dr. Bernard B.B. Bingab, Board Chairman, Ghana Co-operative Credit Unions Association (CUA) whilst the Guest Speaker is Dr. Joe Jackson, Director of Business Operations, Dalex Finance.

The Women’s Conference has, Mrs. Josephine Eva Arthur as the Guest Speaker whilst the Panelists include, Ms. Ruhia Abdulai, Ms. Dorothy Adentwi-Hayford, Ms. Beatrice Teni Atule, and Mrs. Christina Kilson.

Main Conference Speakers are Mr. Kwame Abbey, Mr. Abubakar Issaka, Dr. Paul Owusu Donkor, Dr. Johnson K. Wotu, Dr. Maxwell Osei-Gyemerah, Mr. Roderick Aryeh, and Dr. Solomon Owusu Nyarko.

Dr. Bingab called on all Credit Union members and the general public to actively participate in this pivotal event. He emphasized the importance of leveraging credit unions as catalysts for community empowerment and economic transformation, particularly in today’s digitally driven world.

He expressed optimism about the relevance of the conference, stating, “This is a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to come together, exchange ideas, and foster the growth and impact of credit unions in enriching lives and empowering communities.”

Credit unions prioritize people over profits. Members benefit from lower loan rates, higher savings returns, and tailored financial services, all while supporting community development. This cooperative model ensures shared prosperity and financial well-being for all.

The 23rd Educational and Biennial Conference 2024 promises engaging discussions, expert insights, and actionable strategies to strengthen the role of credit unions in Ghana’s socio-economic development.
