Farmerline is elated to announce that its innovative, AI-powered regenerative farming mentor- Darli AI, has been named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024.

This recognition highlights the AI farming mentor’s unique ability to empower small-scale farmers globally- by bridging language gaps and offering sustainable agricultural solutions in their local languages.

The groundbreaking invention allows farmers in countries like Kenya, Ghana and others across Africa, Asia and South America to interact directly in over 27 languages – including Twi, Swahili and Yoruba.

They can simply call or text to engage with Darli AI through both WhatsApp chatbots and a conversational IVR system for low-resource languages.

There are currently 1 million listeners to the Darli Helpline that are being onboarded onto the service- enabling them to receive real-time advice on everything from fertiliser and crop rotation to market access.

Darli AI has three core functions including- teaching regenerative farming practices, tracking knowledge transfer, as well as monitoring and measuring impact.

Co-founder and CEO, Alloysius Attah said: “There are millions of farmers in rural areas that speak languages not often supported by global tech companies. Darli is democratising access to regenerative farming, supporting farmers in their local languages and ensuring lasting impact on the ground.”

TIME revealed its annual list of Best Inventions on October 30th, which features 200 extraordinary innovations changing lives. To compile this year’s list, the company solicited nominations from its editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process – paying special attention to growing fields such as health care, AI and green energy.

It then evaluated each contender on a number of key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition and impact.
