Ghana’s luxury watch brand, Warrior King Watches, has officially been named the time partner for the upcoming Africa Basketball Festival (ABF).
This partnership marks a significant milestone for the brand, which is dedicated to showcasing Ghanaian craftsmanship on the global stage.
The announcement comes as Warrior King Watches continues to gain international recognition, recently highlighted by GQ Magazine for its unique blend of traditional Ghanaian artistry and modern design.
The brand’s commitment to excellence has made it a stand-out in the luxury watch market, inspiring appreciation for cultural diversity and heritage through its bespoke timepieces.
The founder of Warrior King Watches, Patrick Amofah, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it aligns perfectly with the brand’s vision of celebrating African culture and heritage.
“At Warrior King Watches, we believe that excellence isn’t just something we measure in time—it’s something we see in action. That’s why we are proud to be the official time partner of the Africa Basketball Festival.
Like basketball, our journey is rooted in precision, passion and performance. From our Ghanaian-made timepieces inspired by Ghana’s rich heritage or celebrating the teamwork that defines African basketball, we recognise that success is built on commitment and determination,” he said.
He added that the brand aims to convey its values and heritage through the watches. “Basketball unites people in a shared pursuit of greatness, transcending boundaries and fostering a community built on resilience and hard work.
By partnering with this festival, we’re not just keeping time—we’re investing in the future of African talent and its incredible potential. Together, we are celebrating the power of time and talent to create a lasting legacy for generations to come,” he emphasised.
The ABF
The ABF is a lifestyle event that merges basketball with fashion and music. There have been three editions held in 2019, 2022 and 2023 in Accra, Ghana. The 2024 festival will feature 10 countries – six from Africa and four outside Africa – in basketball, fashion brands from different continents, and thrilling music performances at the University of Ghana from October 24 – 27.
This year’s festival opens with a Sports, Innovation and Entertainment Summit, aiming to explore the intersections of sports, technology and entertainment. It will provide a platform for thought leaders, innovators and industry professionals to discuss trends, share insights and foster collaborations.
Key topics will include the impact of technology on sports performance, the role of entertainment in sports marketing, and innovative approaches to fan engagement.
