As the General Manager of YFM Kumasi, I am proud to reflect on the remarkable journey of our radio station as we mark our 10-year milestone. Over the past decade, YFM Kumasi has become an integral part of the cultural fabric of the Ashanti Region, empowering the local community, supporting rising musicians and driving social change.

Our station has consistently proven that radio is more than just music – it’s about impact, opportunity and empowerment.

We have provided a platform for emerging artists, advocated for social causes and contributed to the local economy. From hosting blood donation drives to organising charity events, we have demonstrated our commitment to the people of Kumasi.

To mark this significant milestone, we have planned a series of activities to celebrate our anniversary and express our gratitude to our clients and listeners for their support. These activities include:

– A special anniversary broadcast featuring some of our most popular shows and hosts.

– A concert featuring some of the biggest names in Ghanaian music.

– A community outreach programme where we will be giving back to the community through various initiatives

– A client appreciation event to thank our loyal clients for their support.

We are also launching a new initiative called ‘YFM Kumasi Cares’, which will focus on giving back to the community through various social responsibility projects.

Our support for local artists has had a far-reaching impact, pushing their careers and bringing them into the spotlight. We have also aligned ourselves with important social causes, raising awareness on issues like education, health and gender equality.

Through our programmes and events, we have inspired a new generation of young people to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact in their communities.

As we look ahead to the next decade, our commitment to the community remains strong. We will continue to innovate and adapt to the changing media landscape, ensuring that our station remains a beacon of progress and a voice for the community. We say ‘Thank you’ to our clients and listeners for your support over the past decade. We couldn’t have done it without you!
