East Legon Football Academy CEO receives ‘Leadership Excellence in Sports’ at Forty Under 40 Awards

Chief Executive Officer of East Legon Football Academy, a young vibrant business mogul, Winston Yeboah Danso, has been honoured with the ‘Leadership Excellence in Sports’ award for his outstanding contributions toward building the sector at the just-ended eighth edition of the Forty Under 40 Awards held at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.

The prestigious accolade was in recognition of his outstanding dedication and commitment to building the sports fraternity and several businesses as well as being a highly respected personality advocating for best business practices in the sector.

The honour also underscores his exceptional leadership qualities and distinctive skills in player management and also setting a benchmark for others to follow.



Interacting with the media after receiving the momentous honour, Winston Yeboah Danso expressed his profound gratitude to the organisers of the award scheme for his keen interest in innovation and hard work, as well as his family, playing team and the entire football fraternity in the country for the support.

He specifically mentioned and thanked his mentor, Cyril Yeboah – Director of Yehans International, for his great support in his life. He also took the opportunity to appreciate the good works of  former President John Agyekum Kuffuor for his stunning contributions toward supporting his dreams of being the best among equals.

According to him, the award is a testament to his unwavering focus on unearthing and exploring talents for a great future.

“I am very happy for this extremely important honour at this highest level. I will continue to help unearth and explore more talents for a great football future in Ghana,” he said.

The Forty Under 40 Award is an initiative of the Xodus Communications Limited with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It seeks to identify, honour and celebrate the nation’s most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age of forty from a wide range of industries.

The iconic awards scheme was attended by dignitaries such as the Presidential Candidate of the New Force political party, Nana Kwame Bediako, some members of the diplomatic corps, government officials and traditional leaders.

Winston Yeboah Danso’s journey

Winston Yeboah Danso founded the East Legon Football Academy (ELFA) and has transformed youth soccer in Ghana, training 200 players and participating in global tournaments like the Dana Cup.

Through the charity arm of the club, the ELFA Foundation, he supports underprivileged communities and improves educational and sports facilities, such as the Harrison Mizpah Academy.
