Mr. Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change (MCF) and presidential candidate for the upcoming December elections, will be the guest speaker at the 2nd Distinguished Speaker Series on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), organized by the Consortium of International Trade Associations.
This series serves as a vital platform for dialogue among key stakeholders and policymakers, with the goal of positioning Ghana as the premier destination for FDI in Africa.
Discussions will focus on analyzing the policies proposed by leading political candidates to attract and retain FDI, which is crucial for economic growth through job creation, tax revenue generation, capital inflows, technology transfer, export development, and infrastructure enhancement.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Mr. Kyerematen is expected to present policy proposals from his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), aimed at attracting and retaining investment in critical sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
This will be followed by a fireside chat with Mr. Joe Mensah, a respected business leader and former president of AmCham.
“It is a privilege to have Hon. Alan Kyerematen, a titan in trade policy, lead this crucial discussion on fostering an environment that attracts foreign investment and drives economic development in Ghana,” stated a representative from the consortium. “We are dedicated to engaging with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure that Ghana remains a competitive choice for investors.”
