The Association of Young Insurance Professionals – Ghana Chapter (YIPs), under the influence of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIG), has commended outstanding students in the insurance industry through a special essay competition during the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG) Excellence Awards.
The event, which took place in Accra, brought together top executives and industry players to celebrate the brightest minds, future leaders in the insurance sector and recognize their exceptional achievements and contributions.
This initiative aimed to identify and nurture talents among tertiary students across various institutions in Ghana.
The Countrv Director of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIG) Chartered Excellence Awards, Lawrence Daniels, while presenting the awards said the event seeks to gradually integrate students into the insurance sector by providing them with opportunities to demonstrate and expand their practical knowledge through an essay competition.
The competition encouraged students to explore the insurance industry, enhancing their understanding and sparking interest in pursuing careers within this field.
Additionally, the award serves as a valuable addition to the participants’ academic and career portfolios.
The General Secretary of Young Insurance Professionals, Kofi Sikapa, urged students to intensify their studies in insurance, highlighting the importance of industry involvement and expertise.

- 2nd Runner-up: Bridget Yaa Tenge, University of Ghana. Awarded a Certificate, Cash Prize, and an Internship with Priority Insurance Company Limited.
- First Runner-up: Eugenia Korkor Narh, University of Professional Studies (UPSA). Awarded a Certificate, Cash Prize, and an Internship with Hollard Ghana Hollard Insurance & Hollard Life Assurance).
- The Ultimate Winners: Rejoice Ama Azaa & Asante Nidad, University of Professional Studies (UPSA). Awarded a Certificate, Ultimate Cash Prize, and Internships with Enterprise Life and Enterprise General.
