In the heart of Wa, a vibrant town in Northern Ghana, a young boy named Prince Hissan Siita Sofo was born into the Royal Family of Wa-Nayiri on March 8, 1983. Despite his royal lineage, Prince Siita’s life has been a journey of earned success, built on dedication, hard work and a steadfast commitment to his dreams.
From a young age, Prince Siita displayed a natural aptitude for leadership and a strong sense of responsibility. At TI Ahmadiyya Primary and Junior Secondary School in Wa, he was appointed compound prefect, a role he continued to excel in at TI Ahmadiyya Secondary School (AMASS) in Kumasi. These early leadership roles helped shape his character, instilling in him the values of discipline, integrity and the importance of leading by example.
His passion for learning and personal growth led him to Sunyani Polytechnic (now Sunyani Technical University), where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Marketing. Never one to settle, Prince Siita pursued further education, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and an MBA in Marketing Management from the Paris Graduate School of Marketing.
His academic journey became a beacon of hope for the youth in Wa, proving that with determination, great achievements are within reach.
Prince Siita’s professional career began in the banking industry, where he quickly rose through the ranks at United Bank for Africa (UBA) and ECOBANK Ghana, holding positions such as Teller, Customer Service Officer, and Corporate Service Manager. Despite his success in banking, Prince Siita was driven by a larger vision—one that transcended corporate achievements.
In 2015, he founded North Television Ghana (NTV Ghana), the first successful television station in Northern Ghana. As CEO and board chairman, Prince Siita used NTV as a platform to amplify the authentic stories of the northern region, often underrepresented in mainstream media. His efforts helped bridge the development gap between northern and southern Ghana and empowered the region’s youth by giving them a voice and a stage to showcase their talents.
Prince Siita’s contributions to the media landscape earned him recognition, including the prestigious 40 Under 40 Awards in the Media category in 2017 and 2018. His commitment to promoting peace, development, and the culture of the Dagbon Kingdom was further acknowledged when the King of Dagbon bestowed upon him the chieftaincy title of ‘Malti-Naa.’
In 2021, Prince Siita expanded his impact beyond Ghana, becoming the founding president of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Young Entrepreneurs Federation (AfYEF). This Pan-African youth network aims to empower young African business owners, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their entrepreneurial goals.
As an author, Prince Siita has also inspired countless individuals through his bestselling book ‘Who Wants to Be Rich’, offering insights into wealth creation and personal development. His writings have motivated many to take control of their financial futures and strive for success.
Beyond his professional achievements, Prince Siita is deeply committed to philanthropy. He has mobilised funds for children’s medical treatments, donated to the Gambaga Witch Camp and settled medical bills for underprivileged patients across Northern Ghana. His generosity reflects his belief that true leadership is not just about personal success but about uplifting others and giving back to the community.
Prince Hissan Siita Sofo’s life serves as a reminder that greatness is not inherited but earned through hard work and perseverance. From a young boy in Wa to a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and advocate for youth empowerment, his journey is proof that with determination and a clear vision, anyone can shape their destiny and make a lasting impact on the world.
His story continues to inspire the next generation, showing that no matter where you start, your dreams are valid and with perseverance, you too can rise to become a leader and make a difference in your community and beyond.
