Film Africa Limited, Africa Global Multimedia Logic Limited (AGM), Vanuatu Trade Commission-Ghana (VTC-GH), African Diaspora Central Bank (ADCBE) and Economic Community of the 6th Region of Africa (ECO-6) have spearheaded the establishment of ONEAFRIQUE24 (OA24) to contribute in Africa’s socio-economic development agenda.
Serving as a world-class news broadcaster, OA24 will be positioned to deliver diverse, high-quality content reflecting African culture, history and current events which reflect the African continent’s diverse perspectives and experiences.
Also representing as the African Union (AU) and other regional bodies’ mouthpiece, the network will offer a range of services which include news broadcasting, online and print magazines, documentary production, entertainment programmes, an online portal, a mobile app, subscription services as well as events and partnerships that underscore Africa’s economic potentials across industries like Artificial Intelligence (AI), mining, manufacturing and banking.
Speaking at the lunch, Kwaw Ansah, Executive Director and Board Chairman-OA24, highlighted the importance of projecting the African continents’ values, culture and capabilities.
“The African stories should be told by ourselves, since we know what we are capable of achieving and what has been achieved so far. This will prepare the ground for the next generation to appreciate being Black,” he noted.
He added that establishing the OA24 will continually help African contries liberate themselves from foreign dependency – stressing that even though Africa is endowed with all the necessary resources, Africans do not know the worth and ability of these resources.
Vanuatu Trade Commissioner to Ghana, Professor Hugh Keku Aryee, also indicated the collaboration is not just a business agreement but will also serve as a bridge that connects all African countries through culture and shared aspirations.
Prof. Aryee said the programmes produced and broadcast by OA24 will gain unprecedented feasibility and engagement by being listed and advertised across the globe.
He said: “This strategic move will not only enhance the reach of OA24 contents but also bring the vibrant stories and dynamic development of Africa to a global audience, and is also an opportunity for us to showcase the rich heritage, innovative spirit and numerous opportunities Vanuatu offers to the world”.
Being the financial investor, he said that VTC-GH will see to all the financial transactions of media alliances conducted in Vanuatu’s new currency issued by ADCB and ECO-6, adding that this step will foster a streamlined and efficient financial eco-system that benefits all parties involved.
“This innovative approach to financial management will enhance the operational efficiency of media projects and enhance a seamless collaboration for the next ten years,” he noted.
He further indicated that the project will include the AI African project – which is aimed at leveraging AI to drive development and innovation across Africa as well as promote technological advancement and economic growth that will position African countries at the digital revolution’s forefront as the world enters the 4th industrial revolution.
President-ADCB and Chairman-ECO-6, Rex Timothy McPherson Semako also established the importance of media: stating that the media have contributed significantly to Africa’s transformation as a global family.
He pledged that ADCB and ECO-6 are going to embark on many transformative investments across Africa toward industralisation, in order to create large-scale employment opportunities.
